Fall officially arrives…cooler weather, too
Fall is my favorite time of year. The leaves are turning and tumbling down as we enter October. According to our ‘trusted’ weather folks, cooler weather is coming our way, too.
As we enter the final quarter of 2017, there is optimism for a strong performance over the next three months, this should will help all of us, especially with regards to real estate. The GDP was revised upward to 3.1% for the 2nd quarter, but hurricanes Harvey and Irma will put a good-sized dent in our #s for the 3rd quarter, however interesting enough — new construction, new household purchases…are all going to lead to more jobs and big boost for the economy. Mortgage rates are expected to remain low, but prices are going to continue to rise. This is good news for the real estate industry. As regards to the President’s proposed revised tax plan, we will have to wait and see what the final product is, and how it will impact us and the economy in general.
Several recent fires in La Tuna Canyon and a nasty one in Corona that is still going on, all underscore our need for “Emergency Preparedness” — these fires are reminders of how vulnerable we are in our area as potential disasters can strike any time. Santa Ana winds visit us in October and can whip up fast-spreading fires with the strike of a match. We also just had an earthquake, and that epicenter was located in the Sepulveda Pass, some reports say it was right under Bel Air Crest! Therefore, I urge you to stock up for emergencies of any kind…get your earthquake kits for home and auto…clear out the brush near your home and be vigilant. Having nice weather can always lull us to thinking ‘nothing’ can happen to us…and bam, that’s when disaster can strike. Be Prepared!
As always, I am here to assist you in all of your real estate needs and to help you find that right price “right out of the bat” or find that perfect new home anywhere on the planet. Please let me know how I can help you.
