From a real estate perspective how is the part of Brentwood that I report on which runs from Sepulveda North & West through Bundy, doing this first quarter of the year vs. the first quarter of last year?
Basically the changes are slight. Currently there are 5 homes for sale vs. 4 last year, 2 in escrow now vs. 1last year. This past quarter there were 2 closed escrows vs. 1 last year. Both years have/had 2 homes available for lease, and 2 were leased this past quarter vs. 1 last year. With the ups and downs of the stock market, and the decision on the part of the Federal Reserve as to how they are going to handle interest rates, it looks to be an interesting year. I recently attended the Brentwood Home Owners Annual meeting and was heartened to hear and see what is being done to lessen the traffic on Sunset as well as the traffic and construction issues that are coming our way with the construction at the schools in the community, plus the issues with the VA and the mandate to return all of the land that is currently being used for other purposes to the exclusive use for the VA itself. We also talked about the proposed projects at the building where Pete’s Coffee is as well as the Martin Cadillac facility. I urge you all to get involved with the Brentwood Home Owners Association and voice your concerns and thoughts on all of these issues. This is your community!
