Bel-Air

Bel-Air is one of those “magical places” where everywhere one turns there are magnificent homes and estates…tree-lined streets that wind above famous Sunset Boulevard…the ultimate California lifestyle. Bel-Air, just 10 miles square, is truly one of America’s unique and prestigious addresses. With Westwood and UCLA to the south, Holmby Hills and Beverly Hills to the east, and the beautiful Mulholland corridor and Santa Monica Mountains to the north, Bel-Air is situated at the apex of the Los Angeles’s famous Westside. To the West and across the 405 freeway, many Bel-Air estates and homes view the Getty Center, surely one of the world’s most renowned museums.
Homes and estates in Bel-Air consistently rank in the top tier in both value and price. Elvis Presley lived in a number of Bel Air homes during his life in Hollywood, and of course, Bel-Air is the home to the Who’s Who of business, media, and the entertainment world. The prestigious and exclusive Bel-Air Country Club offers one of the most beautiful golf challenges on the West Coast, and the famous Hotel Bel Air is ranked as one of the top luxurious small hotels in the world, situated in one of the many lush canyons and arroyos that wind down from the Santa Monica Mountains.

And who would have thought that Bel-Air is home to one of the world’s most famous boutique vineyards – Moraga Vineyards, 16 acres of merlot, chardonnay and cabernet sauvignon grapes. Moraga Vineyards is located on Moraga Drive, on Bel-Air’s western edge.

There are limited number of apartments and offices in Bel-Air, which is part of the City of Los Angeles. There are two neighborhood shopping centers in the community – one at the top of Roscomare and the other, The Glenridge Center, at the top of Beverly Glen and Mulholland Drive. (One of my favorite new restaurants is Vibrato Grill Jazz, located at Glenridge, and features live modern jazz and New American cuisine.)
Serious shopping is available right next door at Beverly Hills, Century City, and Sherman Oaks, which is across the hills in the Valley.
